Who would I bring Back from the Dead and what would I Serve for Dinner?

       If I could bring back one person from the dead, he would be my mom’s father, or my Grandpa.  The reasons as to why I would bring him back from the dead are very important and would bring a great wave of happiness to my family.  My Grandpa was a great man from what I have heard.  When my Grandma comes down to eat dinner with us, there is always one great story of my Grandpa.  My Grandpa passed away when I was about two years old.  Because of my young age, I was barely able to recollect a time that I had spent with him.  My Mom always told me how I would learn to shoot a shotgun or how I would be able to play the harmonica if I had grown up with my Grandpa around.  If I could bring him back from the dead, our whole family would spend time with him.  
       The blog is not only about who I would like to bring back from the dead, but also what I would serve for dinner.  The topic was “If I could bring back one person from the dead, who would he or she be and what would I serve for dinner?”  The first part is pretty explanatory, but the second part is hard to understand.  By reading it, I would say that I would serve his favorite meal.  However my Mom or Grandma would know how to make that meal the best for him.  We would all have a nice family dinner and recollect the past while explaining the present.          By bringing my Grandpa back from the dead, I would be making my family a whole lot happier.  My aunties and Mom would show joy and my Grandma would have to be living alone.  Not only would our family be happy, but many of my Grandpa’s friends would be happy to see him again.  Many people know my Grandpa because he owned and ran Hamilton’s Bar and met a lot of people through the bar.  People respected him and many called him Chief.  My Grandpa’s friends would be excited to see him again but not as much as my Grandma would.  She would have the comfort of the one that she loves around her house.  Right now, she is living alone and we visit her often.  I can see that she gets bored with the fact that she does not always have company.  Bringing my Grandpa back would help her to become much happier. 

        The time my Grandpa passed away was when I was about two years old.  Being so young, I was not able to collect any vivid memories of the times we spent together.  I do still remember him holding me as a baby in his lap and feeding me mints.  When I was young, mints were my favorite candy.  This is the only good memory that I was able to find.  I wish that I had known my Grandpa better because from what I have heard he was a great man and you could learn a thing or two from him.  Hamilton’s Bar would get started up again and people would come.  Being older, I would be able to meet new people and have good conversations.  All of these good things would come if I could bring my Grandpa back to life. 
        If I had to bring one person back from the dead, it would be my Grandpa because I would get to know him, share good times with him, and also learn many new things.  Joy would come to my whole family and we would eat my Grandpa’s favorite meal the first night he came back. 

Are Computer Games a Good Thing or a Bad Thing?

        Many people, including me play computer games.  These can consist of advanced games like “Sudden Attack,” or even simple games like “Solitare.”  These games take up a lot of people’s time.  Is this a good thing or a bad thing?  Most people say it is a good thing, but that is mainly because they like to play computer games.  They have no reason as to why it is good.  Others, mostly people who dislike electronics and are more focused or reading and hobbies, say it is a bad thing to play computer games. 
In my opinion, computer games are a good thing if they are played appropriately, but can be bad if they are played to take up most of the person’s time.  You need a computer time limit.  The reason as to why computer games are good, in my opinion, is that the newer generations of people are becoming more reliable on electronics, whether it is for job related purposes, or just because the person wants to create their own video.  The ability to play or download a computer game allows you to fiddle with the computer, thus giving you the chance to become more into the computer and its properties.  This in turns allows you to be able to work a computer very well.

Working a computer is very important to know these days because everything revolves around some sort of electronic device, usually a computer.  To know how to work one is a great tool to use when you are at work.  This will lead to faster working hours and a more efficient day.  Computers are vitally important in the modern day world.

Why does this bring us to the fact that playing computer games is a good thing?  Well, when you are playing a computer game, you use the computer.  This can lead you to do other things out of curiosity of the computer’s functions.  If a pop up comes up, you will eventually learn to control it.  if there is no internet, you will find a way to get online.  I know many people that can work some sort of hack to get into the internet easily.  To know how to do all these things, even if you are just playing a game, can help you learn and control a computer, which is, what I have mentioned many times before, a vital key to survive in the modern world. 

Computers come in all sorts, from gaming computers, to work computers, to all around laptops.  And while I have said that playing computer games is a good thing, there is a limit to it.  If you are playing computer games for over five or six hours a day, you should consider doing something more efficient with your time.  However playing that much will make you extremely good with the computer, you should just stick to at most three hours a day of computer games.  Another thing is if someone spends a huge amount of money to buy a top of the line gaming computer, which has features that you don’t even need or will use, then this can be a problem.  Wouldn’t you rather spend your money on something that you would need, like food? A top of the like laptop can cost thousands of dollars, but all you really need to spend is about one thousand.  And that is still pretty high in price.  A laptop should not be only bought for gaming purposes.  It should be considered as an all around laptop.  For speed, good connection, and working purposes too.  This is why I believe that playing and focusing on computer games too much, can be a bad thing.  Gaming is still good, just when you have a limit.

Define Beauty

In my past blog I was told to define success.  Today’s blog is another definition blog but instead of success, it is define beauty.  In my opinion, beauty cannot be defined.  Beauty has a different meaning in everyone’s eyes, whether in nature or in another human being.

  For example a guy may say to a girl that she is beautiful and he actually means that.  However his guy friends tell him that she is not beautiful at all.  This is because each guy would look at a girl differently and his definition of beauty could be much different than another guys definition.  In my opinion, without naming anyone, I see beauty as a sense of finding the true view of someone that you love or like.  This vision is mostly physical, but also has some emotional and mental side to it.  For someone to call another beautiful, usually a guy saying it to a girl, the girl must look perfect in the guys eyes, have an amazing sense of personality that makes the guy love her, and a mental standpoint to look and realize that their relationship, whether official or not, is perfect.  Beauty or beautiful are very strong words and should only be used if the person really means it.  Using the term without meaning it can really hurt and should never be done.

Beauty defines a person.  If everyone knows them as a beautiful person or the beauty, that person is probably the best looking out of all the others.  If someone is called beautiful, even if it is by a large number of people, that person should stop and think that someone out there in the world really looks at me with a sense of beauty in their mind.  This should mean a lot to the person who is so beautiful.  Beauty is one of the best things that someone can be called.  It shows that person that they are good looking, nice, funny, and charming in someone’s eyes.  Although others may not see it, one person does and that is all that matters.  Beauty should be harnessed and used to boost one’s self esteem.  This can change the person’s life.      

Although beauty can have such a strong meaning, many people use it is a way that is not at all meant to show affection, but in a way to let someone know that they look good physically.  This is not a bad thing, and is often used many times, more than the real meaning is.  However, most people can tell when the person is using the real meaning, or just being casual.  The casual version should still make people feel good about themselves, but not to any extent that the real meaning should.  If someone uses it casually to another, that other should feel good, but just know that they look good physically and that the person saying it to them does not mean it in any way of affection.  This problem can lead to misguided relationships.  When one who is called beautiful feels that the other loves that one, they would ask the other out on a date.  The one who said the term beautiful or beauty casually does not mean it in any sort of way of affection and thus turns down the one they called beautiful.  Confusing, no, it just leads to the misguided person that was called beautiful feel even worst about themselves because they were misguided and eventually were hurt.  

To me, beauty or beautiful should only be used as intense words.  This means that the one using it feels affection toward the other, through physical affection, emotional affection, and mental affection.  The word is a huge step above other words like pretty, cute, or sexy.  Beautiful is a strong love word and should not be used casually.

Three Things I would want on a Deserted Island

Many people get asked this question, whether it is a question out of boredom, or something that is to come true.  The question is, “If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you take?  I have asked this question to many of my friends and they have all answered very well.  Some have said many dumb ideas, but all of them had a purpose.  If I was stranded on an island, three things that I would take would be very important and would help me to survive.  These three things would include a water filter, to filter out salt water and make it drinkable, a fully loaded flamethrower, to light fires and burn things down, or even to signal for help, and the love of my life, to keep me company and help me survive.  These three things would help me survive and live a long life on the island until I die or am possibly rescued.

The first thing that I mentioned was a water filter.  This would be one of the necessary items to survive with.  The filter would make saltwater or dirty water fresh and drinkable.  The water filter would let me survive for at least a week, if I would only drink water, but there are bound to be animals or fruits that I can eat.  The water filter would be important because it would give me my supply of fresh water, something that would be hard to find on o deserted island. If the filter has to run on a source of power then I would want it to be solar, so that it would always have power. 

The second thing that I bring would be great to use.  This is the fully loaded flamethrower.  This would be of great importance because instead of matches or a lighter, I would be able to have a long lasting flame.  I could turn down the flame to light small fires or turn it up to light up an area of the island.  The flamethrower would be important because I would have a huge source of fire and a way to control the flame.  If I shot the flamethrower in the air, it could act as a signal to call planes or boats.  The flamethrower would be of great importance. 

The final thing that I would bring would be the love of my life.  I don’t know how I would find her, but hey, I could have three things and one of them would be her.  We would survive together and have the time of our life.  She is the love of my life, so nothing between us could go wrong.  If we got in a fight we would work it out.  We would work together to survive and things on the island would be great.  I may not even want to be rescued; I mean that would be a hard decision.  An island all to ourselves, that would be a perfect life.  However we will miss the real world with good food and medicine, and air-condition.  Maybe we would want to be rescued and once we were, we would start a life together.

                The famous question of what three things would you want if you were stranded on an island has once again been answered, and in my mind, very wisely.  What would you want I you were on an island?  There are many different answers that all have some sort of meaning.  My three things would be a water filter, a fully loaded flamethrower, and the love of my life.  These things would help me get through rough times and would help me live a good life on my island.  

What do I want on my Tombstone

When I die, I want to die to go peacefully like my grandpa did, in his sleep – not

screaming like the passengers in his car.  No I’m just joking, but seriously, when I die, which is a long ways from now and what I don’t need or want to think about right now, I will hopefully have a proper funeral.  I don’t know if I would want to be buried because being buried alive is my biggest fear and if somehow, I would live again once I am buried, due to some curse or devil that may or may not exist, I would be so scared for a long time and would just freak out.  I know this is probably impossible but just in case something that crazy does occur, I have decided to be cremated when I die.  I think this would be good because I would still become part of the earth, just spread over a place or places where my family decides to dump me, once I am in ashes.  I would also like to be cremated because I would not have to worry about my burial grounds being trashed or even dug up by grave robbers.           

You may be wondering what my topic is today after that weird introduction.  The topic today is “what do you want on your tombstone?”  I will want to be cremated however I will probably have some sort of memorial carved into a stone of some sort and o would like it to say:

Bananaboat

That is what it would say on my memorial.  You may wonder what the Bananaboat part means and I will tell you.  It is my sort of “catch phrase” right now.  You know some people will just always say something whether it is an inside joke, or something everyone knows.  Bananaboat is an inside joke that is complicated to tell.  You have to have been there to understand.  If my “catch phrase” ever changes, or I get one that sticks with me for most of my life, that is what I will put at the bottom of my memorial.  This catch phrase will not only bring memories to some people, but it will make my tombstone unique compared to all the others that just say the name, birth date and deceased date, and rest in peace.

I was born on that date and I don’t know when I will die, hopefully not soon, but I do hope that I will rest in peace with my ashes roaming the Earth forever.  That’s another cool thing about being cremated.  Your ashes will keep traveling to different places and although the living may find that sick and disgusting, I will find it cool.  Eventually my ashes will have spread evenly throughout the world and that would make me happy, to be everywhere at once. 

The thought of being buried when I die has not always been seen as a good thing in my eyes this is because my biggest fear is to be buried alive and if somehow I awaken from the dead, I will suffer a terrible fate of being scared and eventually freaking out until I have a heart attack and die.  I do not want this to happen and so I decided that I would like to be cremated instead.  To answer the topic, I have put what I want to be on my tombstone or memorial and I hope it is looked upon as being a good, well-thought tombstone write. May I rest in peace around the world.

Television vs Telephone

Does the television have a greater effect on people’s lives than the telephone does?  To answer this question, we have to take in one important factor.  What is an “effect on someone’s life?”  Does this mean the time it takes out of their day, or how important the device is to them?   These two questions can lead to different answers.  If an effect was the time it takes out of their day, I would say on average that the television would take up more of people’s time.  Even though people may talk more frequently on the phone than watch the television, people will watch the T.V for a number of hours while they may only talk on the phone for a number of minutes.  However if an effect refers to the importance of the device to the person, I would say that the telephone is much more important.  This is because the telephone allows people to talk to each other at different places whereas the television is just a form of entertainment.  There are many other things to entertain yourself with but only one way to talk to people in different places.

If you asked me the question, does the television have a greater effect on people’s lives than the telephone does, I would say overall that the telephone has a greater effect on people’s lives due to its importance in the world.  This importance creates a huge effect on people’s lives because instead of having to travel a long ways either by car and wasting gas, or by foot or bike and wasting energy, you would be able to talk to another person while you are both in separate places.  This is great for a traveling husband, to call an ambulance, or even to order pizza. 

I would say the telephone is more effective than the television because of all the major advancements the telephone has lead to.  The television has only lead to newer smaller or thinner televisions with more definition, but the telephone has led to major companies, smaller and faster telephones, satellites for casual talking and texting, texting, video chatting, and much more.  The ways of talking to other people without meeting them face to face has become so popular because you would be able to tell friends where to meet and when.  The television on the other hand is just a newer form of entertainment that keeps kids from reading and doing homework.  It has a hard factor on school life.  Another thing about the television is that it has increases the amount of laziness and thus weight gain for people.  For example, many people will sit down and watch the television while eating unhealthy foods and drinking unhealthy beverages at least once a week.  I know I do that.  This has lead to people becoming more interested in sitting down and watching T.V than going outside and playing.  The telephone has no effect like that whatsoever. 

   All in all, I would say that the telephone has a greater effect on people’s lives, in a positive way, than the television, which also has an effect on people’s lives, but a bad one.  The telephone has lead to greater inventions and will keep prospering while the television will just become smaller or larger, thinner or thicker, and with more definition.  This shows that the telephone was a great change for people due to its great ability to communicate two or more people, while they are in different places.  The television is only another form of entertainment that makes people lazy and fat.  The telephone will lead to great things but the television will not.
